Why I started this Blog

Hello again, readers! The last post I shared talked about me and my life, so now I wanted to share why I decided to start a blog.

I’ve had a dream for a long time to one day write a book or start my own ministry. This dream began when I was a teenager and I had a heart for young girls struggling to follow God while navigating through teen life. I would see these girls go back and forth from following the crowd to following God's commands—and I was guilty of that same back-and-forth. I believe God is equipping me one day to help other teen girls, and maybe not even starting my own ministry, but by serving those in my local church. For now, though, I believe He’s calling me to reach young wives, mothers, and young adult women.

I’ve always loved writing. The thrill of creating my own stories and poems, and of journaling my thoughts and prayers, has always made me feel joyful and free. When I was a teenager in my local youth group, I would write mini devotionals on the Bible app, and some girls would follow them every week. I felt like that was exactly what God wanted me to do— to encourage those girls every week. People would tell me I should write a book or start a blog, but I brushed it off because I was insecure and thought I wasn’t good enough, or I’m not a good enough Christian to write something like that.

Fast-forward to when I married my husband. I told him about my dream of one day writing a book or a devotional, and he encouraged me to make it a goal. He shared how he saw my heart for others and genuine love for God’s word, and said I should one day be an encouragement to others. I was deeply moved by his words, but I brushed it off again because I still didn’t think I was good enough. I've prayed off and on about what to do, and I’ve carried this deep longing in my heart to one day step into it.

Fast-forward another year—8 months after I had my daughter—my husband and I were doing our devotionals one night and the topic popped up again. He encouraged me that now was the time to create my own blog. When he said that, I knew deep in my heart it was the time. I was confident in who I am in Christ and trusted that God would lead my words and actions as I began.

I want you all to understand that when I post about my walk with Christ, my marriage, or motherhood, I am not claiming to have everything figured out. I’m simply sharing what I’ve learned, what God has taught me and brought me through, and the resources that have helped me. I am not perfect. I will mess up, and I will own my mistakes when I do. I pray that God directs the words I write here to be accurate, full of love, and full of joy. And I pray that all of you who read these posts will be encouraged, convicted, and challenged— because we all need sisters in Christ to point us back to the Father.

Love you, ladies! See you next time!
